Interview with Author Kathy Ross about this book, "Crafts for All Seasons"

My parents are in their late 80s and have moved from a large house to a small bungalow in a managed care facility. While they are having an absolute ball with their many friends and all the activity (Dad has two solos in the Christmas program) the small space has been a little hard for my Mom at times. They could take only a small number of their many lovely things, so Christmas ornaments was not a high priority.

I took the old Christmas balls that decorated our trees through the last 50 years, not really sure what my plans where for them as I have a huge collection of my own at this point. This morning I went out and bought an artificial wreath. I got out the balls and wired many of them around the wreath. It really looks lovely and it was very easy to do. I am going to send this to my parents (who have asked that no gifts be sent to them, because they have no room) with a return label and postage so that they can send it back to me for storage after the holidays.

My thought is that it gives them back the memories of our many decades of Christmases as a family, without crowding their limited living space.
